LEGACY ALIVE
The M.E.B. (“Miles Electric Band”), founded in 2010 by EMMY – and GRAMMY-winning producer and drummer Vince Wilburn Jr., brings together former Miles Davis musicians with a new generation of outstanding jazz artists. The band performs at major concert halls and festivals worldwide, continuing the musical innovations of Miles Davis’ electric period.
Their latest album, That You Not Dare To Forget (Sony Legacy) features previously unreleased studio recordings, including two original trumpet parts by Miles Davis, as well as contributions from jazz legends such as Ron Carter, Marcus Miller, and Stanley Clarke. The album is dedicated to Wallace Rooney and Bernard Wright.

The bank
The former counter hall of the Sparda Bank branch at Stuttgart's main railway station was once transformed into a chic event location - and has since been a safe bank for top-class jazz concerts during the festival. Traditionally, the Jazz Open are opened here - with the awarding of the German Jazz Trophy. Under the motto "A Life for Jazz", deserving artists receive this award from the foundation Stiftung Kunst und Kultur der Sparda-Bank Baden-Württemberg.
