  • What is the Jazz Open?

      The Jazz Open Stuttgart is a music festival that has been held annually in Stuttgart since 1994. The two terms "jazz" and "open" stand for the central musical orientation of the festival: jazz as the integral and basic part of the festival is side by side with the adjacent musical genres such as blues, soul, rock and pop music on an equal footing. The festival takes place annually in July on several stages. The organiser and founder is Opus Festivals GmbH.

  • When will the Jazz Open line-up be announced?

      All information about this year's line-up can be found here.

  • Are there waiting lists for concerts that are already sold out?

      No, there are no waiting lists.

  • Are there any age-related admission restrictions?

      Children under 3 years of age are not allowed to enter the venue. Children between 3 and 6 years of age are admitted free of charge without seating entitlement. Children between 3 and 13 years of age may only attend the concerts if accompanied by a person with legal guardianship or a parent/guardian. Teenagers between 14 and 17 years of age are permitted to attend concerts until 24:00 hrs without the escort of a person with parental authority and with the permission of their parents. Furthermore, the Youth Protection Act applies.

  • Who plays when & where?

      You can find information about the programme here.
      We will publish the scheduled performance times on our website in good time. Please note that these are not final and may still change up until the performance.

  • Will the performance times of each artist be available in advance?

      Yes, the scheduled times when which artist will perform are noted on the line-up page. Please note that the actual performance time may vary. The best way to get up-to-date information on performance times as well as info on spontaneous changes is via our social media channels on Instagram and Facebook.

  • What is the parking situation on site? (Schlossplatz & Altes Schloss)

      Unfortunately, we cannot provide parking spaces for our guests. Please inform yourself about surrounding parking possibilities. We are easily accessible by public transport and your ticket allows you to use public transport free of charge up to 3 hours before the event and after the event until 5am the following day.

  • Where is the nearest metro/train/bus stop?

  • Where is the nearest taxi station?

      Schlossplatz & Altes Schloss:
      The nearest taxi station is at the bus stops between the Schlossplatz and Altes Schloss.

      SpardaWelt-Eventcenter:
      The nearest taxi station is at the main station (Hauptbahnhof).

  • What is the address of the venues?

  • Can I come by bicycle?

      It is possible to arrive by bicycle. However, it is not permitted to take a bicycle onto the festival grounds.

  • Where can I lock my bicycle?

      It is strictly prohibited to lock and attach a bicycle at the festival's barrier fences. If a bicycle or similar vehicle/equipment is locked to the festival fencing or festival equipment (decoration or similar), the respective vehicle will be removed.

PAYMENT

  • How can I pay at the festival?

      The Jazz Open are a cashless festival, i.e. free of cash (paper money). You can make all payments cashless with Apple Pay, Google Pay etc. and with contactless cards (EC/credit cards). With Mastercard you get a 20% discount on food, drinks and merchandise.

  • Does this mean that I can only pay with Mastercard?

      No, cashless includes various debit and credit cards as well as your cards stored digitally via app.

  • Can I pay with cash?

      No, the festival is a cashless festival. For all those who do not have a debit/credit card, we offer Mastercard x Jazz Open prepaid cards with a credit balance of €20. These cards give you a 20% discount on food, drinks and merchandise. These cards can be purchased at the festival site for €20 and then topped up as often as you like with an individual credit balance.

Tickets

GENERAL

  • Where can I buy tickets for the Jazz Open?

      Tickets are available exclusively and most easily via  our online shop erhältlich. In addition, you can also get them at our advance booking office iPunkt Stuttgart. 

  • In which ticket categories can I buy tickets (Schlossplatz & Altes Schloss)?

      We offer tickets in the following categories:
      Standing room
      Front of Stage standing room
      Seats in various categories and
      Business tickets, which include exclusive access to various catering areas.

  • Can I sit in the standing room area?

      No, unfortunately there are no seating options there. You are not permitted to bring seating with you. However, as an alternative, we also offer seating tickets at our concerts.

  • Can I give tickets to my friends?

      Yes, tickets can be passed on to friends, acquaintances etc., as they are not personalised. Tickets that have already been scanned at the entrance can no longer be passed on.

  • In which case do I get a discount on my ticket?

      For Jazz Open concerts, pupils and students receive a 10% discount on presentation of an appropriate ID at the time of purchase and admission. Escorts for handicapped people with a severely handicapped ID with the code “B” will receive free admission. Those who do not require a wheelchair space can book these tickets exclusively via email to jazzopen[at]opus.live with the organizer. Tickets for wheelchair users can be booked as usual through the ticket shop. 

  • My child is 3 to 6 years old. Can he or she come to the festival free of charge?

      Yes, children between the ages of 3 and 6 years old can enter the festival grounds free of charge with a parent or guardian. However, they are not entitled to a fixed seat.

  • Is public transport included in the ticket price?

      The purchase of our tickets includes the VVS Combo Ticket. The Combo Ticket allows travel on all VVS public transport (2nd class) from 3 hours before the event starts until 5 a.m. the following day. For digital tickets, personalization is required to use the VVS Combo Ticket, which can be done directly in your customer account.

  • I am unable to attend (sick, injured, other appointment...) - can I return my tickets?

      No, tickets are generally excluded from the right of cancellation and return (all information can be found in the general terms and conditions here). 

  • Can I resell my ticket?

      The commercial resale of tickets is prohibited. Private resale is only permitted if the resale price does not exceed the original ticket price by more than 25%. If you are unable to use your ticket, you can safely resell it via the official resale function in our ticket shop. To do so, log in to the ticket shop using your user details (email address and password) and go to “My Tickets”. Select the relevant event from the drop-down menu and, in the ticket overview, click on “Actions” and then “Resell Ticket”. Once the ticket is purchased by another person, it will be automatically transferred and the purchase amount will be credited to your account.

  • Can I also buy tickets via the resale?

      Yes. Resale tickets can be booked just like any other tickets through our ticket shop as soon as they become available. For you as a buyer, there is no difference compared to a regular ticket purchase. The ticket transfer and payment processing are handled securely throug or shop - of course with guaranteed original tickets.

      Note: We strongly advise against buying or selling tickets through unauthorized secondary market platforms such as Viagogo, Global-Tickets, or eBay/Kleinanzeigen. Only through our official ticket shop is a secure transfer guaranteed.

  • Can I buy a voucher for the Jazz Open?

      Vouchers can also be purchased in our ticket shop at www.tickets.jazzopen-stuttgart.com. They are valid for three years. The validity period begins at the end of the year in which the voucher was issued.

PASSES

  • Which festival passes are available?

      The Jazz Open offer two festival passes in the business category with access to all concerts at the respective location. These are the Festival Pass Ehrenhof for the Schlossplatz, and the Festival Pass Altes Schloss for the Altes Schloss. There is also the Kombipass Stehplatz which includes access to the standing area of all Jazz Open concerts. The passes can only be ordered in our online shop at our  online shop.

  • Are there single day passes for several stages?

      No, we only sell passes in the business category for the entire period of the Altes Schloss, the entire period of the Schlossplatz or for the entire festival period in the standing area category (Schlossplatz, Altes Schloss, SpardaWelt Eventcenter, BIX).

  • Does the festival pass come in the form of several tickets?

      Festival passes are sold as single tickets in the form of a PVC card with a lanyard or as digital tickets. If you would like single tickets, please contact jazzopen[at]opus.live.

       To access the business areas, you also need a business wristband in a new color each day, which you will receive at Entrance 1.

  • I bought my pass from a "friend" (from third parties, from Ebay, Facebook, via Viagogo). How can I verify that the pass is valid?

      Only passes purchased through de Jazz Open website are guaranteed to be valid. Do not buy passes from unauthorised third party resellers or unofficial resale platforms. We do not provide customer service or verification service for passes and tickets purchased through such platforms.
      Passes purchased illegally through third parties may be cancelled at any time without warning.

  • Can I give my pass to friends or acquaintances? How does that work?

      Yes, you can. Simply give the pass to the person in question or provide the person's shipping address when purchasing the pass (you will still be listed in our system as the purchaser of the pass).
