Diana Krall

UNIQUE

Diana Krall is an internationally acclaimed jazz singer, songwriter, and pianist, whose eight albums debuted at the top of the Billboard Jazz Charts. Her career includes two Grammy® Awards, ten Juno® Awards, and numerous gold and platinum certifications. Born in Canada, she began playing piano at an early age and developed her passion for jazz under the guidance of her father. After studying at the Berklee College of Music and working with jazz greats such as Ray Brown, she launched her career with albums like Stepping Out and Only Trust Your Heart.

She achieved international breakthrough in 1999 with When I Look in Your Eyes, which spent 52 weeks at number one on the jazz charts, won Grammy Awards, and went platinum. This was followed by successful releases including The Look of Love, Turn Up The Quiet, and her collaboration with Tony Bennett, Love Is Here to Stay. Her latest album, This Dream Of You, honors her 25-year collaboration with producer Tommy LiPuma.

Krall's unique artistry transcends any single musical style and has made her one of the most recognizable artists of our time.  As The New York Times recently noted Krall possesses, “A voice at once cool and sultry, wielded with a rhythmic sophistication.”

Lisa Wilhelm Quartett Special

JAZZ BETWEEN LIGHTNESS AND DEPTH

No need to push the drums to the foreground. Young Stuttgart-based drummer and composer Lisa Wilhelm – awarded the 2023 Soloist Prize of the Young German Jazz Award – performs in a wide range of ensembles on German and international stages, but most prominently with her quartet, which she leads with subtle elegance from the background. Her compositions consistently surprise: understated, fresh, and carrying a distinct personal signature. Matching the quartet’s floating, light sound, a string quartet and singer Mareike Riegert also contribute to the band, and are part of the new album “So Close.”

The quartet was founded in 2020 when all members were studying at the HMDK Stuttgart. Their debut album “Potpourri – quoted not stolen” was named one of the Jazz Albums of 2023 by WDR and was also selected as NDR Jazz Album of the Week in February 2023. In May 2025, their second album “So Close” was released, expanding into a larger ensemble and blending diverse influences into a cross-genre invitation to come closer together. Inspired by artists such as Yebba, Billie Eilish, and Gerald Clayton, the music merges lyrical jazz, dreamy pop, melancholic melodies, and driving grooves.

Lisa Wilhelm’s musical path has taken her across Europe – via Hamburg to Dinkelsbühl (BfS for Music), where she deepened her roots in pop music. Her affinity for jazz brought her back to Stuttgart, where she began studying jazz drums at the HMDK in 2018 and completed her bachelor’s degree in 2023. In 2021, she studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm before moving to Lisbon for another semester at the Escola Superior de Música.

Alongside LiWiQ, she performs in a wide range of ensembles with musicians from across Europe, including the Stockholm trio BÖE, the Restle Wögler Big Band, the Tim Scherer Trio, and indie singer Mimi. She has appeared on international stages and festivals as well as in renowned German jazz clubs. In 2021, she was part of the Elbphilharmonie Jazz Academy in Hamburg, sharing the stage with internationally acclaimed artists such as Matt Brewer, Melissa Aldana, Yaron Herman, Theo Croker, Ziv Ravitz, and Julia Hülsmann.

The magic

The Counts and Dukes of Württemberg once set the tone here. Today, the Jazz Open do the same every July. South German Renaissance and contemporary music merge into a highly emotional experience. Colours have never seemed so intoxicating as when the magnificent arcaded courtyard glows in the dark to the music.
