THE COOL CATS

With joy, subtle humor, and high musical quality, The Cool Cats invite young audiences on a journey through the world of jazz and improvisation.

In a lively dialogue between stage and audience, the musicians show what jazz really is, how it works, and why improvisation is so much fun. Children discover rhythms, melodies, and instruments—listening, clapping along, singing, and marveling.

Familiar children’s songs are transformed into swinging, grooving jazz arrangements and meet selected jazz standards, playfully woven into the concert program.

On silent cat paws, as brave knights, or arguing with a donkey… The Cool Cats guide their audience through the seasons and festive celebrations in a varied program—an entertaining, educational, and memorable concert experience for children aged 3–10 and their adult companions.

Musicians:

  • Georg List (b. 2001) plays jazz piano and Hammond organ with passion. Besides his studies, he frequently performs in the Stuttgart scene and, since 2025, has been part of the United Jazz & Rock Ensemble 2nd Generation, succeeding Wolfgang Dauner.
  • Vivien Zippert amazes with her versatility and flexibility. The Stuttgart native shines as a jazz singer with remarkable improvisational skill and impresses in musical and pop contexts with her expressive voice.
  • Niklas Müller (b. 2001) has played trumpet since age 10, progressing from school bands and eight years of classical training to orchestras and jazz. He gained big band experience in 2022 with Lajazzo BW and has since dedicated himself fully to music. He has studied jazz trumpet in Stuttgart since 2023.
  • Henrik Schnaitmann (b. 1998) works across genres and instruments, from house bands in Norway to the Stuttgart jazz scene.
  • Johanna Ehlers (b. 1998), a double bassist from Hamburg, teaches at the Ludwigsburg Youth Music School, performs chamber music from historical to contemporary, and is regularly featured in Stuttgart’s theater, opera, and ballet productions.
